STRIMMER AND BRUSHCUTTER

Brushcutter and strimmer course for Novice or Refresher courses for professionals

Course Content;
- Legal and Safety application surrounding use of the brushcutter or strimmer.
- Selecting the correct machine for the job and fitting a range of heads.
- Pre-start checks and safety practice
- Selection of correct PPE
- Safe Operational practice using a range of recognised techniques
- Maintenance of equipment
- Handling fuel and correct ratios
- Electric equipment, maintenance of battery's etc
- Site clearance and biosecurity
- Recognising poisonous plants
- We require you to provide the manufacturers instruction required to operate brush cutters/trimmers.

This is a Lantra Integrated Training course, you will be taught then assessed for competence, If successful a Lantra Qualification will be awarded. .

Tractor driving

Master the art of tractor operation with our comprehensive driving courses. Learn about safety checks, maintenance, and efficient driving techniques for various agricultural tasks.

Course Content;-
- Health and Safety surrounding tractor driving, legal objectives and legislation
- Understanding the hazards surrounding start up and operation, including mounting and dismounting
- Controls and Instruments for safe operation
- Pre start checks
- Basic maintenance
- Safe Driving & Handling during operation
- Starting and Stopping and leaving in safe state.
- Correct Manoeuvres
OPTIONAL UNITS
- Safe Hitching/manoeuvring with trailer implements
- Hitching/manoeuvring with mounted implements
- Safe unhitching
- Fitting & Operation of PTOs
- Basic use of Tractor Mounted Front End Loader
- Planning efficient field operation

Duration of course depends on experience of novice or refresher training, for Novice training 4 days are required

Training is based on own farm equipment, Please contact for further information on Machine and equipment requirements, including maintenance equipment for training

Operators Instruction books will be required for all machinery.

Pesticide application

Learn the safe and responsible application of pesticides with our certified courses. Understand regulations, handling, and application techniques to protect the environment and yourself.

A range of Pesticide qualifications are offered as follows;-
-PA1 Safe handling of Pesticides
-PA2 Boom Sprayers
-PA3 Air assisted sprayers
-PA4 Granular applicators/ PA4S slug pellet application
-PA6A Hand Held Knapsack sprayers
-PA6AW Hand Held Application to Water

Please contact for specific course content for each discipline. This is offered as either an NPTC OR LANTRA qualification
The courses are designed for either Novice or refresher training. Training is given on day 1 with the assessment on day 2
